About your Santa Rosa insulation contractor

How I got into insulation work

I learned insulation and air sealing on a municipal crew, working on city buildings where every job had to get past an inspector. That work taught me to do things in order and write things down, and I started D&R Santa Rosa Spray Foam Insulation in 2023 to bring those same habits to houses here in Santa Rosa.

Most people call us because a room is drafty, the upstairs stays hot, the room over the garage never feels right, or the power bill keeps climbing. Others have an old attic and aren't sure what's up there, and some calls come from property managers with commercial buildings. Either way, I'd rather take a closer look before we start than lay insulation over a leak or a hidden problem, because that's a pain to undo. You can see everything we do from our home page, and no question about your house is too small to ask.

Licensed, insured and careful with permits

  • California contractor license

In California, a contractor needs a license from the state licensing board when a job needs a building permit, uses employees, or when labor and materials come to $1,000 or more, and in Santa Rosa only licensed contractors or owner-builders can pull a building permit. Licensed and insured. When your job needs a permit, we apply for it, set up the inspections and hand you a copy of the paperwork for your records.

What working with us is like

  • I look at your house before we quote

I come out to your home myself and check the attic, the crawl space and how many inches are already up there before we put a number on anything. That way the estimate is built on what your house needs, not on a guess.

  • Plain answers to your questions

We'll walk you through your options in everyday words, like when sealing the gaps and topping up blown-in insulation, which is loose fill blown through a hose, makes more sense than spray foam, and when foam is worth the extra cost because your ductwork lives up there. Call (707) 508-4085 or use our contact page to ask anything before you agree to anything.

  • Problems fixed before they get covered up

If old insulation is soaked or full of droppings, we deal with that first, and we seal the gaps around can lights, pipes and the attic hatch before anything new goes down. Our crew keeps the eave vents clear so your attic can still breathe, and I run the job on site so the steps happen in the right order.
